The Home Program provides in-home training to parents and caregivers to address issues related to sleeping/bedtime, toileting, mealtime, independent living skills, basic compliance, community behavior, and many other life activities. We experience problems as they occur, giving us a perspective that traditional office therapy cannot provide. Our therapists work with parents as a team to develop a positive programming approach that is manageable for the parent and understandable to the child. Programs are tailored to meet the needs of each child and family and are routinely adjusted to promote success.
The Home Program offers full and partial-day training seminars for parents, school personnel, recreation programs, and case managers. Our audiences have included preschools, public schools, recreation programs for children and adults with special needs, and professionals serving individuals who are dually diagnosed with developmental disabilities and mental illness. Specific information is given on disabilities, and on strategies for managing difficult behaviors.
The Home Program staff is available to assist schools and recreation programs in staff education and development in the area of developmental disabilities and behavior management.
